reflection on the practice

When I was sufficiently proficient in the main functions and rendering modes of Cinema 4D, I started to produce formal scenes. The first scene to be created is the future city, which requires many of the techniques I mentioned earlier. Building a city is not easy, even on the screen. But I am very excited about the upcoming challenges because I can’t wait to create a city for my science fiction.

All beginnings are hard. I first built the first model, which is a separate house, and then I used cloning technology to turn it into ten, twenty, and one hundred and let them form a region. But the houses in the urban area are uneven. I need to find a way to make them into a random state instead of neatly arranged, so I used a motion graphics effector, which can randomly adjust the height of the building. , To help me quickly achieve the well-proportioned effect. When a region is ready, use the cloning function to gradually expand the city.

One element of the visual reference of my novel is cyberpunk. In cyberpunk culture, there must be a high-rise area in the city, such as some large enterprises and companies, clearly distinguished from the surrounding area, which can be called the city center. So I need to select a few buildings in the middle of the built city model to make them towering into the sky. This requires the "point mode" in C4D to select a part of the building in the middle. But when I made this step, my computer interface was so stuttered that I couldn't run it anymore, and even the software crashed. After understanding, I discovered that driving Cinema 4D requires strong compatibility of the graphics card. The graphics card configuration is too low, the CPU frequency is too low, the number of threads is too small, the memory is not enough and other reasons will affect the operation of C4D. After I built a big future city, my computer could no longer drive the software.

I had to stop my current job and find a way to solve the computer problem. Because only by solving this problem can I do more modeling and rendering.
