compare & pick

According to the experience of making the box experiment last time. I used some jammed paper to explore the shape of this box. I hope this box looks completely sealed and only the top side can be opened. At the same time I want the outer wall to be as hard as possible. Last time I wanted to use wood to make the final box. When I tried to make a box with wood, I found it very difficult, not as simple as using paper. I don't think I can learn the skills of a carpenter in a short time. When I talked to a friend, he recommended to me a carpenter who customized boxes.

Jingdezhen, China is a handicraft resort, where there are many artisans. So find a special carpenter to customize a box. I immediately contacted a carpenter and told him the size I needed. Three days later I got a wooden box. After receiving the wooden box, I found that both its “length” and “width” met the requirements, but the “height” seemed a bit short, and I was worried that I could only put down the photos and not other contents. And its cover is too easy to fall. So I ordered the second box immediately. I adjusted the height a little higher and changed the cover to a plug-in type. Then I got a usable box.

In addition to the wooden box, I also found a transparent box that was used to cover the exhibits. The original function of this box is to display treasures, and I want to use it to carry "ego" is also very symbolic. However, the specific choice depends on the degree of matching with other materials.
Due to I won't directly take these boxes to hold the content, I also have to process the boxes. This will use the small vote I made in the instagram that I mentioned in the previous workflow. That vote selected the material I want to add to the outer wall of the box: mixed clay.

In addition to the box part, I also chose the bead curtain as the final display prop. The bead curtain is a traditional Chinese handicraft. It is much like a spider silk covered with rain and dew after a rainy day. I mentioned the idea of hanging boxes and contents in the forest in the previous workflow. I will use a bead curtain to achieve it. I will show the specific operation of the bead curtain in the following workflow.
