Annihilation (2018)
Story plot:
Lina is a biologist. One year ago, her husband Kane mysteriously disappeared after participating in a secret mission. During this year, Lina has been living in sorrow. One day, Kane, who had amnesia, suddenly appeared in front of Lena, then passed out and was taken to the hospital. There, Lena met Dr. Wentrez.
Dr. told Lina that Kane was sent to an unknown area shrouded in "flashes". During three years, countless teams were sent to the area for exploration. Only Kane returned alive. Not only that, the "flash" is constantly expanding. In order to find out the truth, Lena voluntarily joined the next batch of dispatched teams, and she went with her, in addition to Dr. Wentrez, Anya and Josie.
Lina began her unknown journey in the unknown area and explored the mystery of her husband Kane in this unknown area. Finally, she encountered an unknown object in a hole and gradually formed another herself, in the process of confrontation with herself. She finally fled the area. Only she and her husband left the unknown area alive. However, we are not sure whether they are still the original ones. Perhaps they are Adam and Eve in the new era.

Before I wrote the draft, I thought about the science fiction novels and movies I have seen before. Among them, Annihilation gave me a very different understanding of the future science fiction world. I chose the movie as a reference for the novel because the form of the alien invaders presented in this movie is a completely unknown form. It does not have the plot of killing and war in the traditional alien invasion movie, but tells the human consciousness was attacked and annihilated, start narrating from an unknown area. The unknown area is infested with flowing viscous colored halos, this mysterious substance is called "the shimmer".
"The shimmer" at this time showed that only the light wave was refracted, and the magical change in physical state brought a shocking visual experience to Lina. At the same time, she used her eyes to show the shock to the audience. "The shimmer" contains huge secrets, not only related to the secret of Kane's encounter, but also more secrets that threaten the survival of mankind.
In this unknown area, time is distorted, and animals and plants are also mutated. And plants can copy and read DNA fragments in the human body, even consciousness. This shows that the copying and reorganization function of "the shimmer" is very powerful. It not only changes the physical state of matter, but also can reproduce and reorganize the invisible consciousness. Lina witnessed the whole process of cell division and reorganization and on-site replication.
Gorgeous scenes, collapsed beliefs, pounded on Lina's soul frame by frame. Witness the destruction of a person and disappear completely. This is annihilation!! A person's flesh is completely copied, and a person's consciousness can also be completely copied, which is like a parasite occupying the entire host.
The science fiction movies we usually watch are aliens occupying the territories of the earth, enslaving human, or killing human. This is the first time this conscious substitution has been made, which is also the subtlety of this film.
The aggression of consciousness in Annihilation went one step further. If the consciousness was swallowed by another species, then the aggression finally succeeded. This play actually reveals a human concern, not to be invaded by aliens, but to be invaded and annihilated.
If there is no self-consciousness, then "you are not you" and "I will not be me".
