“A box is a container for holding things. Its packing material makes its space invariable, also protects the holding object not to deform. Boxes may be made of a variety of materials, such as wood, glass, paper, ceramic, iron, etc. Some larger boxes are called boxes, such as containers. Boxes are usually cuboids, cubes, etc.”

That's how Wikipedia explains facing the box. The box comes from man's most primitive invention. Its function is to carry the object. I think it can be extended to more concepts, such as containers, shelter, protective layers, etc. Different boxes have different functions, and I want to use boxes to carry some personal memories.

my inspiration

The basic shapes of boxes are cubes and cuboids. This reminds me of two things. One is the black stone tablet in the movie 2001:a Space Odyssey. A group of gorillas are attracted to a black stone and are just beginning to recognize tools and reach evolutionary milestones. The same black rock also appears in many parts of the universe, standing on the moon and floating in space, with mysterious implications for human civilization. Over the past few thousand years, countless civilizations have collapsed and new ones have followed. The other is a scene from the short animated film World of Tomorrow. In the short animated film, people know that a meteor will hit the earth in 60 days and most people will die miserably. Rich people will upload their digital consciousness into a cube that will be launched deep into space. This inspired me a lot, and I wanted to realize this idea, to keep a person's memory in a box for a period of time.

In this scene, there are cubes where people upload their digital consciousness.
