According to what we discussed in the last studio, this week I started to design other contents in the box besides the photos. First I started to do "guide". This is used to explain what I mean by "Ego" to avoid vocab misunderstanding. This requires some text to explain Ego. According to the advice Laura gave me before, because I did a lot of reading in the discovery phase, I can quote some key sentences in the article.
These sentences need a title to summarize, that should be "What is Ego?" this simple and clear expression of the theme of these quotes.

"What is Ego?"

I think I need to make a specific font design for this title, instead of directly using a certain font. Because I want to combine graphic and text, so that readers can think of some kind of connection as soon as they see this font. This connection is between ego and ego, and also between ego and the world.
I thought of the spider web mentioned many times in my previous workflow. The intention of spider web can clearly express the "connection", and spider silk can express a kind of inextricable connection. I mentioned in my previous workflow (conversations) that I want to use spider webs for visual experiments. I think it can also be used in font design.

reflection on practice

When I was making fonts, I thought of the Character Workshop in Unit 1. In that workshop, we used different tools to decompose the various parts of "Type", and we finally realized that the word "Type". The workshop taught me to use different tools and split the structure of the font to design the font.

In this font design, I also tried various tools. The difference is that I tried it in AI, because AI can quickly use its presets to achieve good results. And font design is not the main part of this project, I need to complete it quickly, so I use AI.

Using AI software has brought me back to the area where I am good at. Familiarity with the software made me quickly complete the font design. The skill is useful to me as a practitioner because it can quickly achieve the graphic effect I want.
