personal tutorial
before the tutorial
2 options
- Draw illustrations for my previous fiction Möön & Nöön and use C4D modeling to create future cities.
- Write an apocalyptic fiction to satirize the deliberate cover-ups and indecisiveness of the authorities.
goals
- Show what I did in the discover phase and ask for some advice.
- Show the 2 options I have made now and let Laura help me to choose the more suitable one.
- After choosing the best option, ask Laura to give some visual suggestions :)
notes
During the tutorial with Laura, we discussed the two options and analyzed the different challenges posed by the two options. Finally, I decided to choose the first option for the 2000 words project. Because my main purpose is to study design, I feel that learning a new design software will be very helpful for my future practice. I also look forward to making a future world in C4D that I imagine. So choose option 1.
After making a decision, I need to re-read the fiction that I originally wrote and conduct the mind map again. This time I have more time. I hope to make the details of this novel well and convey certain values.
Option 1 requires creating a visual scene for the fiction. I need to learn a new software C4D. I like to accept challenges. If I can successfully complete C4D production, I will make greater progress in design.
I told Laura that I would use C4D for modeling to create digital, future, and sci-fi visual effects. Laura introduced me to Tina Touli, a designer who does not shun showing the design process. She is very good at combining the physical and digital world to create. I will research Tina's work.
reflection
This tutorial took me directly to the define stage. This makes me feel that I can't wait to start the next creation. I am confident in the science fiction I created last time, and I put a lot of effort into the last science fiction creation. I look forward to expanding and visually creating it this time.
I will conduct research on Tina's work, learn her production process, and do some visual experiments.
