reflection on the tutorial feedback

In our last tutorial, everyone gave me feedback mainly in the hope that I can make an explanation of ego and visualize it to let the audience understand better. Today, when I showed the fonts, the electronic version of pamphlet, and the pages made last week to everyone, I got relatively positive feedback. I summarize these feedbacks into three areas:

1. Font
As I mentioned in the previous workflow, I hope to use this spider-like font to express an inextricable connection between ego and ego. The feedback my peer gave me is as follows:

"those lines make it look complicated and ego is indeed complicated thing"

"the spider font really expresses ego like Shihhan said and its complexity"

From the feedback of today, it seems that the direction and tone of my font design is correct. Its communication seems to be in place. I will keep this font in the outcome.

2. Guide
I made a guide in the format of pamphlet, hoping that people will understand my theme through the words I quoted. As Laurence said,

"the pamphlet is really helpful like a map to the box. And solves any issues of miscommunication and turns it from an Art project into a graphic design project"

These are the two things I want to do the most, 1 is to allow audiences to feel the concepts I convey from the outcome and arouse their thinking, 2 is to combine Graphic Design and photography and other art forms to make this project more diversified. I am very happy to receive such feedback, which is affirmation of my previous work.

3. Form of Outcome
After I showed the pamphlet, Rose gave me a very useful hint.

"maybe what would work better would be to divide up the questions and quotes on to separate designed cards
and then you can have them inserted inside the box in deifferent places
do you think this might be a good approach for bringing the graphics and the archive closer together? "
According to my understanding, this method is to decompose the pamphlet I designed into cards and insert them in different positions of the box. When people watch a part of the archive in the box, they will suddenly see a text or some questions. This will not only make the graphic and archive more closely combined, but also inspire the audience's speculation.

Accepting feedback and thinking about feedback always bring great help to my design and make some of my problems solved. I will grow from these feedbacks, and my design will improve from these feedbacks.

new idea inspired by Rose

After the reflection, I decided to adopt some of Rose's opinions but kept the pamphlet I designed before.

My new idea is:

I will intersperse text cards in the archive, but put the pamphlet as the first guide on the top layer of the box, so that people can see this guide as soon as they open the box and explore the box more.

Affinity Diagram

I will consider putting this diagram in the box, but delete some content, keep some key points, and let it really play the role of the map. I will use the spider fonts designed this week to simplify this diagram and make it more clear and smooth.
